Descriptif : | Job title : Associate Lecturer in French (Education and Scholarship) Job description: College of Humanities, Foreign Language Centre The University of Exeter is a Russell Group University in the top one percent of institutions globally. In the last few years we have invested strategically to deliver more than 350 million pounds worth of new facilities across our campuses with plans for another 330 million pounds of investment between now and 2016. The College wishes to recruit a part time (70% FTE) Associate Lecturer (Education and Scholarship) to support the delivery of French language credit-rated modules in the Foreign Language Centre. This post is available from 1st September 2015 to 31st August 2016. The post will include preparation, delivery and assessment of credit-bearing modules in French at a range of levels from Beginners to Advanced Three as part of the FLC's Institute-Wide Language Programme. The post requires up to 17 hours teaching per week in term-time. Details of the language modules can be found at: http://humanities.exeter.ac.uk/flc/languages/french/ The successful applicant will have native or near-native competence in French with excellent command of English, with experience of teaching language classes which form part of non-specialist HE language programmes at all levels, and with experience of designing, setting and marking appropriate assessment components. S/he will be familiar with a variety of strategies to promote and assess language learning. The applicant will work collaboratively as part of a team. Staff at this level are expected to achieve Associate Fellow of the HEA within two years of appointment (if not already achieved) and to attend formal Continuous Professional Development courses relating to this.
